FINANCIAL INCLUSION FOR ALL IS OUR TARGET-LCV BUNYANGABU
The Chairperson Bunyangabu District Hon. James Ategeka Mugarama has asked residents of Bunyangabu District to ensure that each house hold enters into the money economy.
While addressing the Leader's conference that was held at the District Headquaters on Tuesday 20th June 2023, Hon Mugarama said that residents need to make use of the various Government programs that are aimed at empowering people to enter into the money economy.
" There are a number of Government Programs for example the Youth Livelihood Program, the Uganda Women Enterprenearship Empowerment Program, Emyooga and now the new Parish Development model which are aimed at pulling the remaining 39% of the remaining population into the money economy. I would like to emplore you to form groups and benefit from these programs so as to fight against poverty," he said.
He asked residents to pay back these monies promptly as these monies are revolving.
" Some of you get these monies but unfortunately default on payment which deny your counter parts from benefiting," he said.
The State Minister for Gender who also doubles as the Woman Member of Parliament for Bunyangabu District Hon. Peace Mutuuzo thanked the District leadership for working hard to ensure prosperity.
" The District Chairperson's speech has clearly laid out what has been done through out the Financial year, the projects are quite impressive and we ask them to continue with the spirit of working hard," she said. She also cautioned natives to be security alert noting that the recent attack in Bwera should not be taken forgranted.
" There is a section of people that hate progression, that is the same group making attacks and killing innoscent sauls, for that reason let us be extra careful," she said
