Don't Tint Government's Image In environmental Conservation

The Resident District Commissioner Bunyangabu Joshua Kisembo Masereka has cautioned Civil Servants who use Government's name to destroy wetlands to stop.
Speaking at the commemoration of World Environmental Day that was celebrated on 7th June 2022 in Bunyangabu District, Mr. Masereka observed that a number of government Officials hide in the name of state house to degrade wetlands which is contrary to the environmental laws and policies.
" Our president His Exellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is always advocating for environmental conservation and protection, why are you tintingour government's image by pretending to be State house workers that are using that authority to degrade natural resources?" he wondered.
He asked the Department of Environment at Bunyangabu District not to hesitate to arrest any one who is destroying buffer zones and the environment at large.
According to Edgar Muganzi the Senior Environmental Officer Bunyangabu, environmental protection and conservation calls for a collective and transformative action for every one.
He said protecting and conserving the environment doesn't need to be done by only the environment department but the community at large.
apparently, just slightly after Rubona Stock Farm along Fort portal Kasese High way there is a wet land that is being degraded by an individual who claims to be a state house official.
That person intimidates District workers from Bunyangabu DLG who always come to query his acts.
He even uses in mates of Rwimi Prisons as work force.
