BE MORE SECURITY CONSCIOUS
The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Bunyangabu Mr. Jolly Tibemanya has asked residents of Bunyangabu to be more security cautious.
During the District Task Force Meeting for Covid-19 on Thursday, Mr. Tibemanya noted that the recent bomb blasts in the country call for more vigilance among the communities.
“The community needs to avoid crowded places, be Keen on strangers and avoid touching any undetected objects,” he said. He also called upon the community to alert security in case of any suspicious objects that have been dumped.
On Covid-19, the RDC noted that there is a lot of laxity on the side of the community in regards to observing SOPs which he said is a threat. He asked the District surveillance team to continue enlightening people on the importance of observing SOPs and embracing vaccination for Covid-19 in order to fight the pandemic.
Dr. John Anguzu of World Health Organization (WHO) asked Bunyangabu District to mobilize more people for vaccination as a way of intensifying the fight against covid-19.
“Make vaccination mobile for example, you can move to different institutions and vaccinate people. This will help to increase on the number of people being vaccinated,” he said.
According to Stephen Wandera the surveillance focal person Bunyangabu, the District currently has 29 active cases under home based care and they have had a cumulative of 646 cases ever since the outbreak of the pandemic where by 608 cases have been discharged.
