RDC ASKS COMMUNITY TO EMBRACE COVID-19 VACCINATION
The Resident District Commissioner Bunyangabu Mr. Jolly Tibemanya has asked the community to embrace testing and vaccination for Covid -19.
During the District Task Force meeting that was held on 7th October 2021 from Kabonero Sub county, Mr. Tibemanya observed that the community is not yet free from the Covid-19 Pandemic and as such people need to embrace vaccination.
He also noted that communities need not to get tired in observing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) so as to keep safe.
“Some section of people in the community only put on Masks when they see a police Officer or when they see the RDC, this practice is dangerous because you are not wearing the Mask to protect the RDC, but your own life,” he said.
According to the Ag. District Health Officer (DHO) Bunyangabu, the District has so far received 9541 doses of vaccine and these contain three types of Astrozenica, sinovac and Modena.
He asked the community to come and get vaccinated in all the 10 sites that have been designated for immunization in Bunyangabu District.
Margaret Nabagala who works with Ministry of Health asked Bunyangabu District to lay more strategies that are aimed at increasing contact testing so as to intensify the fight against Covid-19.
