It was joy and sadness today at the Bunyangabu district Council hall as the community bid farewell to SSP Steven Twinomugisha, the outgoing District Police Commander.

Twinomugisha had only served the district for 11 months before being transferred to Entebbe district, where he will serve in the same capacity.

In his remarks, Twinomugisha noted that the district leadership and the community had been receptive and cooperative, which made his work worthwhile.

"I have overseen 81 convictions but the biggest pending problem is animal theft. Nonetheless, I'm happy that the image of the police has remained so good within the public," he said.

SSP Twinomugisha has been replaced by SP Ndaula David who was serving in Sembabule District.
